Good Synedrex reviews are hard to come by. And there’s a reason for that. The weight loss supplement was first manufactured almost a decade ago, but then it was found that the product contained ingredients banned by the FDA. The company which makes Synedrex has since changed the formula. But Synedrex reviews mostly focus on the old formula.
You can buy the new version of Synedrex online and in a few brick and mortar shops. But if you look around, the old formula is still available. People sell the supplement on sites like Craigslist and eBay. So before you think about buying this drug, read on to find out the difference between the two, and if Synedrex really works.
Synedrex Reviews: The First Formula
As mentioned, the first Synedrex formula contained some ingredients which were banned by the FDA. There are two important things to note when you consider this. First of all, the FDA doesn’t usually stick its nose into supplement manufacturers’ business. You’ll read it on just about every supplement bottle:
This product has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Sibutramine, an ingredient found in the first Synedrex formula, is banned in many countries. Most of them, actually. The US, UK, Thailand, the Phillipines, Australia, Canada and China are just a handful of those countries. The supplement was found to increase very serious heart problems, including heart attack, stroke and increased heart rate.
The ingredient was first released as the drug Meridia in 1998, and over 400 cases of adverse effects were reported. This included 29 deaths. The company who made the drug, Abbott Laboratories, blamed these deaths on an already unhealthy, obese population. Abbott, however, eventually pulled the drug from the market.
Synedrex was still available, though, and people continued to take over the counter sibutramine. Synedrex reviews began piling up, and few of them were good. There were complains that the drug caused severe anxiety, and some claimed that it made them feel depressed. They said their hearts were pounding, and some experienced chest pain. Women complained that their menstrual cycles were affected.
Overall, Synedrex reviews were not good for the first Synedrex formula. So what happened next? Let’s look at reviews after Synedrex changed their ingredients.
Synedrex Reviews: The New Formula
We’ll just cut straight to the chase. Synedrex reviews, after the company changed the formula, were still not good. The same side effects were reported, and many people claimed that the drug wasn’t even effective. In other words, they took a pill to lose weight, and all they got was an extreme case of the jitters.
Synedrex reviews also pointed out another problem with the product. The dosage was one pill a day, and this was supposed to increase metabolism, burn fat and decrease appetite. Sounds like a dream, right? Well, the manufacturer never gave instructions regarding fitness or health routines.
Some Synedrex reviews said that the consumers continued to eat as normal. Most said they saw no results from this. Other reviewers said they didn’t feel hungry, and actually didn’t consume enough calories. Their “energy” levels (read: jitters) were through the roof. No food in conjunction with increased activity was bad news for them, too.
Others who used the product said that they experienced a host of ill side effects. Nausea, insomnia, vomiting, irritability, dizziness, heart palpitations, headache and chills are just a few of these symptoms. And it was almost unanimous: not too many of these people said that Synedrex was worth it. They didn’t lose a significant amount of weight. Those who lost weight said they felt unhealthy.
Overall, Synedrex reviews were pretty poor, even despite the formula change. Most reviews of the product were negative, and few recommended it.
Should You Take Synedrex?
There are so many weight loss supplements on the market today, that it’s difficult to understand why someone would choose Synedrex. A drug with such ill side effects is almost certainly unhealthy. And the purpose of losing weight is increased health, right?
Here on You Reviews, we’ve covered a huge variety of health products. We’ve talked about sports equipment like the Bowflex Max Trainer and the SitnCycle. We’ve written about weight loss supplements like Estroven and Green Tea. And we’ve even mentioned a few supplements which can help you if you’re hitting the gym hard.
None of the supplements we’ve ever reviewed on You Reviews have had the catastrophic side effects that Synedrex has. In a way, we feel that Abbott Laboratories may have had a valid point. Being overweight is a health risk of its own. Why add to that by taking a supplement that may do more harm than good?
As you know, there are many more effective ways to lose weight than by simply taking a pill in the morning. Curbing your appetite is a great way to help stop overeating, but shouldn’t be done at the risk of your overall health.
As we always do, we recommend that if you’re absolutely certain that you want to take Synedrex, you talk to your doctor. He can help to monitor you closely, and give you guidance as to your dietary and fitness plan.
But we would strongly urge you to first check out some of our other reviews on weight loss supplements; one of those may be a better fit for you.
Synedrex Reviews: What We Think
We can’t, in good conscience, recommend that you take Synedrex. In fact, it’s one of the few products that we’ve reviewed that we haven’t tried. After reading Synedrex reviews and looking at the facts, we chose to abstain from the drug. We want to keep writing product reviews for you for a very long time, and don’t want to risk our health just to try a product.
The ban of sibutramine by the FDA, in addition to the mostly negative Synedrex reviews have us convinced. There are much better products for weight loss on the market.
